Ronn Jefferies LL.B is a former Counsel to the Attorney General of Ontario and now practices law privately in Toronto. He was called to the Bar in 1983 and formed his own firm, Cooper, Jefferies and practised litigation, including Criminal, Family and Landlord and Tenant, for six years.

During his 12 years with the Attorney General he contributed to drafting the Rent Control Act, 1992 and the Tenant Protection Act, 1997. He has demonstrated superior skills in Administrative Law (appearing before Tribunals). He was instrumental in training and providing legal advice to the decision makers under these pieces of Legislation.

He also has been employed by a Community Legal Clinic and the Office of the Ombudsman. Having worked for the provincial government, he is well able to assist clients who are having difficulties with the bureaucracy.

He currently is applying his expertise in all areas of Board/Tribunal work, property law and has a special interest in assisting Tenants obtaining abatements of rent and prosecuting landlords. He has a proven track record in this regard.

Ronn has been both a defence lawyer and a prosecutor. He has represented both Landlords and Tenants. He has worked on both sides of many fences and uses that experience to his clients' advantage.

LEAGAL AID AND PRO BONO WORK
Ronn has taken many special cases on a reduced fee rate or no fee at all in exceptional circumstances. He entered law with the view to helping people and has practiced that philosophy throughout his career

FEES
His hourly rate is $300 per hour with fixed rates for certain transactions. If you retain Ronn you can be certain that he will do the legal work personally. One of the benefits of retaining a sole practitioner is personal service. With 23 years of experience to draw on, he can get the work done quickly and efficiently.
